Jane Scull, owner of Crossed Threads, our Shop Focus for November,
brought Patricia Bage to our attention. Jane proudly states,
"Luckily we have a local designer, namely Patricia Bage
of Patricia-Ann Designs. Her designs have been very popular with
my customers and they eagerly await her next offering. For many,
it has been their introduction to using Caron threads and, lets
face it, after using Waterlilies, stranded cotton will never
be the same again!"
Shimmering Seashells
The glistening of seashells along the seashore. The design
is stitched on cream cashel linen. This is a design that really
sparkles with beads, metallic threads and Caron Waterlilies ~
Seashell. The chart has 15 specialty stitches.
Woodland Walk
This is a new designs in shades of the autumn colours
of an October Woodland and is a companion piece to Shimmering
Seashells. The chart has seventeen specialty stitches.
Patricia Bage has always been interested in stitching: both
cross stitch and needlepoint. However, it was not until she discovered
the Internet and found samplers with specialty stitches that
she became truly immersed in this passion was then inspired to
begin her own design career, establishing her company, Patricia-Ann
Designs, in March of 2000.
Rose Garden
English Roses blooming in June. The design can be stitch
on either Lavender Mist Linen or Antique White Linen. The chart
has eight specialty stitches and the over dyed thread is Caron
Waterlilies ~ Rose Blush. A Mill Hill treasure completes the
sampler
Summertime Secrets
This is a new design that could also be used as a Birth
or Wedding sampler, featuring soft delicate flowers reminiscent
of summer. The design is stitch on 28ct white linen. The chart
has 16 specialty stitches.
A Frosty Morning
Snowflakes, frost and melting icicles on a typical English
Winter morning. The design is stitched on White 28ct cashel linen,
and features Caron Waterliles Moonglow, Metallic braids, beads
and a glass treasure. This design really does sparkle just like
snow in the morning sun!
Since starting her professional design career, she has exhibited
at two trade shows in the UK. In the past two and a half years
her business has grown to the point where her designs are available
throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Patricia has also
been featured in several UK stitching Magazines.
Mountain Mist
Snow topped Mountain with shades of lilac and green for
the grass and heathers. The design is stitched on White 28ct
Linen. This is another design that really sparkles. Threads used
are Caron Waterlilies: Sea Moss, Kreinik Metallics, and DMC
floss and perle cottons. The chart has 21 specialty stitches.
Starflake
This designs can be stitched in either of two colourways
Gray and Pink (as photograph) or Blue and White
The gray and pink version features Caron Waterlilies ~ Harbour
Mist.
The blue and white version features Caron Waterlilies ~ Blue
Lavender.
Honeysuckle Courtyard
Fragrant Honeysuckle around the trellis in the courtyard. A companion
piece to Rose Garden. The design is stitched on Antique White
Linen.
Threads used are Caron Waterlilies ~ Orange Blosson, DMC Floss
and Kreinik Metallics. The chart features 13 specialty stitches.
"I love to experiment with colours and textures and I
especially love the Caron Hand painted Waterlilies silks I employ
in many of my designs," Patricia explains, "My charts
are easy to follow and include detailed written instructions
together with stitch diagrams. A full colour photograph is also
provided." Patricia's designs are such that they are eminently
suitable for the beginner, intermediate or experienced stitcher
alike."
Garden Paths
A traditional sampler, featuring traditional English flowers
in shades of peaches, pinks and creams. The design is stitched
on Antique White Linen and features Caron Waterlilies ~ Tobacco.
The chart has 16 specialty stitches.
Autumn Acorns
Autumn Acorns is one of a set of four seasonal designs.
Winter Holly, Spring Forget-Me-Nots and Summer Strawberries complete
the set.
Patricia resides in the County of Kent in the UK, an area
known as The Garden of England. She is married and lives with
her husband Brian who is an Engineering Manager and three children, David (16), Gary (14) and Lauren (5).
