MATERIALS

8x8" 18 or 19 count canvas or evenweave fabric
#20 tapestry needle
4 sk Watercolours in 4 different colors. We used
085 Antique Brass
146 Moonglow
159 Silver Blue
160 Night Sky

Separate the strand of Watercolours and work with only one ply.

Mount canvas or fabric on frame to prevent distortion.

After stitching the borders in a color arrangement of your choice, work
the center background in Night Sky. Do half-cross over one thread or stem stitch horizontally over four threads and back two.

Then work free form snowflakes at random.

Finished size of design on 18 count is 3" x 3". Use as an ornament.

Other options:

1) stitch center area (30x30 threads) and insert in Sudberry House ring box.

2) add additional borders to make 4 or 5" square. Use as box insert.

Ideas for stitch placement and stitch formation for the snowflakes are illustrated on the chart above,
but use your imagination to create your own unique snowflakes.

The chart shows the borders only partially filled in. Work the stitches all around, keeping the satin
stitches all slanted in the same direction.
